The purpose of the Bayview Hunters Point Youth Development Organizational Capacity Project (BHP) is to support young people by strengthening youth-serving organizations' capacity to create sustained community wellness in BVHP neighborhoods. Through paticipatory research strategies that inform capacity building, the project works with youth-serving organizations in the Bayview Hunters Point community to develop and implement innovative strategies to transform community problems.

The project provides:

• Grants to selected groups; groups that are engaged in or moving toward youth empowerment and groups that are willing to work together.

• Individual capacity building; coaching based on individual organizational needs and aspirations.  

• Foster network of relationship; access to larger network of resources - facilitation of social capital.  This includes assisting groups individually with fund development strategies and plans; encouraging other funders to know about and hopefully increase support for BVHP youth-serving groups.
