Research/Practice Forums

Gen Forum

The César E. Chávez Research-Practice Forum is an annual event that brings together SFSU faculty, service providers and community members to address key issues related to educational, health and social disparities, to foster collaboration and to stimulate socially engaged scholarship.

The event is held in the spring of each year, to coincide with César Chávez’ birthday. The Forum is an all-day event, with varying formats, where participants have an opportunity to discuss the latest research findings, to network with others who share similar commitments and have complimentary areas of expertise, to develop together a clearer vision of the work that remains to be done, and perhaps above all inspire each other to continue the long work for social justice.
